What u gonna do, what u gonna say when love comes your way? Ask Gebre…

Gebre characterizes his music as original artistry with mixed old and new elements that help to create a universally appealing sound based on his observations of the human condition.
Gebre means “servant” in the Ethiopian language. In this case a servant of H.I.M. teaching and healing the world through great music.
Gebre is seeking to “put the R back into reggae”, by following the steps of early artists who were directly influenced by the burgeoning Rastafarian movement in Jamaica. Beyond this, Gebre will ultimately evolve and advance Reggae music and culture globally.
Gebre was born in Jamaica WI, where he was exposed early on to the garden of inspiration that flows from maroon traditions of Africans who not only survived the Atlantic slave trade but promptly rebelled and retreated deep into the island where they re-formed their culture. These ancestral spirits found their way to Harlem USA before and during the height of the Renaissance, and artistic rebirth which ignited the Pan-African movement. After completing his studies, Gebre relocated to Harlem to immerse himself in the culture and history of the people. This move would greatly influence his “sound”.
Gebre’s process for creating his music is deeply personal, often developing ideas from dreams, daily life experiences, and nature itself. Having both the talent and technical skills to bring to life his vision is not to be understated. He works diligently on refining his sound and craft. Meticulously arranging each note, horn line, and chorus. Often infusing genre elements from various cultures.
Gebre’s musical genius once fully realized will be a galvanizing force for humanity.
